A firepit is typically a round or square structure that is open on all sides, which creates a communal, campfire-like setting and is great for group seating.
A fireplace has a defined front and often includes a chimney or a back wall, offering a more traditional and formal look and directing heat in one direction.
Gas is generally lower maintenance. It lights instantly, produces less smoke, and doesn’t leave behind ash or soot. It’s a great option if you want convenience and cleanliness. Wood, while more traditional and atmospheric, requires more upkeep: cleaning ash, storing firewood, and managing smoke. If you enjoy the crackling sound and scent of a real wood fire and don’t mind the cleanup, wood could be a great choice for you.
Most patios can be retrofitted with a fire pit or fireplace. We’ll assess your space, recommend the best placement, and make sure everything is safely integrated with proper ventilation, fuel access, and seating flow. Whether you want gas or wood-burning, we can customize a solution that enhances your current setup.
